Yes, another expedition to youtube has provided results. Here is very nice animation of Anhanguera taking of via quadrupedal launch, as suggested by Michael Habib in a paper that I still have not acquired nor read (oh the shaaame).
It look nice but I would think that when the animation is in the "Launch" position the animal would already be in the air, but regardless it's very nice animation and great illustration how quadrupedal launch works.
More goodies. I just discovered website called Pterosaur net . It's an excellent website with some nice articles, like pterosaur myths by Darren Naish, pterosaur locomotion by Mark Witton, restoring pterosaurs by John Conway and sections for pterosaur origins, ecology and popular culture. There's also small gallery of some of the most beautiful pterosaur artwork I have ever seen. However as great as all of that is, I must confess my favourite section of the website is the gallery of famous pterosaur fossils. Beautiful photos of classic pterosaur specimens and new Tischlinger UV treats.

Oh, I've been EAGERLY awaiting this animation to come to light. Now that I've seen it, I feel like something's missing. Wouldn't the animal fall toward as its center of balance shifted ahead of its shoulders? I thought the animal would kick off with its feet, then "jump" with its arms and start flapping or gliding or something.
Both models (this one and mine) require some form of flapping to stay aloft initially, so I don't know how well it would work with the giant pterosaurs.
Thanks for posting this video, though, brother!
Marvellous!
@Zach: I'm not certain it would "fall forward" during the pitch. I assume the animal would learn to catch itself at an optimal point during launch, rather than simply allow the forward momentum to be wasted.
The pterosaur.net url seems dead...
Nick,
Yeah I just checked the url on my blogpost and for some reason it did not work. However I did google "pteroaur net" and the website is still up.
I don't know what happened, but I have now updated the link in the blog post.
Thanks Nick!
